Elephant Rock Cycling Festival

Finishing up the 100-mile ride at the Castle Rock Fairgrounds. Great bike course for a Century ride but lots of hills to contend with. There was almost 6,000 feet of elevation gain. Watch out for Roller Coaster Road at mile 61.
Ironman Arizona 2008 (Spring)

Mary got this video of me at IM Arizona right after passing the “Hot Corner” on the start of the 2nd (of three) laps of the bike. I looked relaxed but, man, I was in for a surprise on Lap #3 -- lots of unrelenting wind and bonking problems during that last 38 miles. But I did make the bike cut-off in time!
Las Vegas Half Marathon

Fireworks kick off the official start to both the Half and Full marathons. The coolest part about this race was that the Las Vegas Strip was closed down completely on one side during the first section of the run. It was great running The Strip without cars to contend with. Plus, it wouldn’t be a true Vegas experience without the Elvis impersonator singing at the start of the race.
